Studio Artist user Jean Detheux has written a review of the recent Boston Visual Music Marathon which featured his new Studio Artist animated film Daydream Mechanics V Sketch 3. I think any one interested in creating abstract visual animations will be fascinated by this review of the Visual Music Marathon.
There is also a great interview with Jean Detheux by Marjorie Kaye online you can read here that includes galleries of some of his beautiful Studio Artist animations.

Studio Artist user Virginia Sventek has a new gallery web site online showcasing her work here. There are lots of great digital paintings, photos and altered photos, including many that might inspire you to take a trip to Scotland.
Virginia has the following to say about her work. "I work from my own photographs, drawing the image with pens and brushes that i've adjusted from those provided by studio artist. I adjust colors and create layers in photoshop. The final image is printed on 100% rag paper with pigment inks."
You can check out Virginia's new gallery site at www.virginiasventek.com.

There is a new tutorial up on the Studio Artist User Forum that discusses how to use selective focus when working with Studio Artist to modulate automatic painting or image processing effects to achieve a desired artistic outcome. This could include forcing the user to focus on a certain area of attention in an image as well as building selection masks that can then be used to modulate image processing effects to selectively process visual highlight or background areas of an image. To check out the new tutorial on 'Conscious Manipulation of Image and Effect Focus' click here.
